MBTA officials recently met with Berkley residents to explain a plan to install above-ground liquefied propane storage tanks for operating equipment at the Myricks Street commuter rail line crossing. Residents had an opportunity to ask questions and air their concerns.

The latest Greater Taunton real estate report, featuring a multi-family home in Taunton that sold for $539,000. The Shores Street home was built in 1880, is a two-family house, and has six bedrooms and three bathrooms. Check out this property, as well as other recent top-sellers.

Got any creative ideas for the old Taunton Nursing Home site?

In April, there will be a public meeting for city residents to say how the former Taunton Nursing Home property should be used.

The Taunton Nursing Home on Norton Avenue was permanently closed in 2019.

“There will be an opportunity…for residents to meet the project team, view initial findings, and provide input after learning more about the potential reuse and redevelopment options,” said Taunton’s Grant Coordinator Taylor J. Torres said. “We will also offer additional avenues for residents to provide their feedback through the city website.”

There are a variety of options on the table.

Taunton couple serves up sizzling birria and fruity margaritas at their dream restaurant

Avocados Mexican Restaurant in Stoughton has new owners: Taunton couple Mirna Paris Moreno and Roberto Arechiga.

They’re serving up a whole new menu of fresh, homemade dishes, and fruit margaritas made to order.

Arechiga is also co-owner of the El Mariachi restaurants with five locations, but this is the couple’s first restaurant outside the family business.

Restaurateur wants to bring Mideastern flair to Taunton cannabis shop edibles

After getting unanimous approval from the Taunton Planning Board on March 2 for his development plan, San Holdings LLC principal partner Jacques Barbour said his family-owned business hopes to open its marijuana cultivation facility and retail shop on Hart Street near Route 24 by the end of 2023.

Barbour said Taunton-based San Holdings is managed by his father, Tanios Barbour, who has some special plans for the facility.

Barbour said his father hopes to offer gourmet flavored edible cannabis products for customers to purchase at the marijuana retail shop.

“What we are hoping to do is take in a Middle Eastern cuisine,” he said. “There are different things we have looked at. We have been testing different products.”

Frustrated neighbors want answers as decision looms on massive Berkley warehouses

The date is fast approaching for Berkley to decide whether to allow two massive warehouses to be built on Myricks Street.

The Planning Board has scheduled April 13 as the decision date for whether to permit a pair of 154,500 square-foot and 162,500-square-foot warehouse buildings that neighbors have vehemently opposed.
